TV.
Good morning! On my way to work. I am actually not tired, for the first time since.. Hmm? Guess I got more than enough sleep this weekend!
Many things to plan and prepare for at work this week. Things are happening :D
Carl and I saw the last episode of Broen yesterday evening. The end.... Strange! Who was it?! The first season had a real ending, but this one?! Or is it me? Am I stupid and don't get it?
By the way, does anyone have tips on good tv series??

Mary in Metro.
I love this weekend! Just being here by myself, spend 75% of the day in bed. Just what I needed. This week will be quite intense, but very fun!!! I'll attend a lecture in how to use Facebook in the "right" way for a company, 2 mingle events, and a photographer from Metro is coming to our office. And the article will actually focus on....ME.
I'll tell you more about this later!!!
Waiting for Carl to get back to Copenhagen. But I hope it is not tooo soon since I have to clean up here from the mess I have created when he was away ;)

My intention...
Monday. My intention is to write in this blog at least once a day now. Busy times. Get up at 5.40 am, take the bus to work, come home from work at 6 pm, (GYM after?!), finish dinner at 8 or 8.30 pm, TV, sleep. Thank god for the weekends :)
So this thursday I got up at 3.45 and went to Helsingborg, and from there with my colleague Björn to Skövde. We attended Apticdagen, by Aptic - a software program we use at our organisation. Since I work with communications, marketing, social media I felt a bit lost there among all facturing company representatives but I had fun anyways. I love to meet new people and learn new things. And also, it was a banquette later that evening and a party after that. Some of us stayed up until 4am. (Yes I was awake for 24 hours). Got up the day after at 7. My voice was gone, but many others were quite tired as well so.
This weekend Carl's sister Anna and her boyfriend Johan visited us. I was a bit sick (I always get sick when I sleep too little), but could join them on several activites anyways. Stayed home a couple of times. Yesterday, we went to the christmas fair at Tivoli. I love Christmas and I love tivoli. Too bad I was not in a very good shape.

Many trips to Malmö for me now, but it's fun to work! It feels very exciting to be included in the launch of Billmate!
Today, Tim and I have fixed a lot for the event, and also prepared some other things that will happen after, when we are more "official".
Got home at 6. Went for a short run in my new work out clothes.

Image.
Petter showed me this video yesterday. When your company is active on social media, it is important to think about what kind of image you want to have, and also if that image fits for the target group you have chosen for your business. With this video, Dollar Shave Club feels like a friend , a buddy you want to hang out with. And I think it works for them, and for their business purpose. And for their intended target group. However, for some companies I don't think the consumers would appreciate this kind of communication/image. Or what do you think?

LUND
Today, I went to Lund and spent the afternoon with Petter. We started working with a Facebook strategy for his and Stefan's company Sparfabriken, and also discussed some other important issues regarding the business, marketing and communication. It is very important to have a plan, a strategy, when having a Facebook page, You can't just create a page - you must communicate, interact, be creative :)
I just wonder, how much value do media put on referencing nowadays? Do they think it is OK to steal info from others and present it as their own fact?
Tomorrow I had planned to attend a sales course that Promoters AB organises, but they called tonight and told me it has been cancelled. So I guess I will stay home, working with the article and other research instead.

On friday, I will meet Tim who is the marketing manager, and we will discuss how we will work with marketing and communication, AND plan for a very exciting event.
Today, I'm going to Lund to have a meeting with Petter. We will discuss the Facebook strategy for his and Stefan's company :) I really enjoy to work with these guys!
I mostly dress in black, white and beige. This blue dress with white dots is one of very few colorful pieces in my closet. Dress from H&M, blazer a second hand bargain, bag from MEXX.

Meeting.
Today, I had a meeting with our neighbors who run a business where they make inspirational posters. They are really passionate about their business, and it is very fun to work with people who have a genuine interest in what they are doing. I will work for them a bit, don't know how much yet, but assistim them in marketing and communications ideas.
I also tried to write an article today, but it was just not a good writing day today I guess. That's life. Sometimes it flows, sometimes it doesn't. Went for a run instead, but that didn't went too well either. My legs felt heavy. New day tomorrow.
Tomorrow I will meet Petter in Lund, to discuss their social media strategy :) Looking forward!
Carl and I have a new favorite TV-show. A Danish/Swedish one - Broen/Bron. A little scary, but very exciting! When you have seen one episode, you really feel you want to see the next one, and then it goes on like that. We are using Netflix, but I think at least seaon 2 is available at some other streaming sites.

Slogans.
What's your favourite slogan? I like slogans that are short and clear, for example Nike's "Just do it" and Nokia's "Connecting people". I think it is important that a slogan really says something about the business idea and its values. And of course that the company can live up to it! :)
Here are some other slogans by well-known companies and brands.
Harley Davidson – American by Birth. Rebel by Choice.
Volkswagen – Think Small.
Porsche – There is no substitute.
Adidas – Impossible is Nothing.
Calvin Klein – Between love and madness lies obsession.
Marks & Spencer – The customer is always and completely right!
IBM – Solutions for a smart planet.
Sony – Make Believe.
PlayStation – Live in your world. Play in ours.
EA – Challenge everything.
Blogger – Push button publishing.
Nikon – At the heart of the image.
Kodak – Share moments. Share life.
Olympus – Your vision. Our future.
FedEx – When there is no tomorrow.
Red Cross – The greatest tragedy is indifference.
Disneyland – The happiest place on earth.
McDonalds – I’m loving it.
KFC – Finger lickin’ good.
Burger King – Have it your way.
Coca Cola – Twist the cap to refreshment.
M&Ms – Melts in your mouth, not in your hands.
Nokia – Connecting people.
Vodafone – Make the most of now.
Airbus- Setting the Standards.
Boeing - Forever new frontiers.
Dell Computer - Get more out of now.
Ericsson - Taking you forward.
IBM - We make IT happen.
Philips - Sense and simplicity.

Ad Wars.
Several companies choose to create an ad war. They include competitors in their own ads, with the purpose of making themselves seem better than other alternatives on the market. It is not illegal, but many argue that it is not how business should be conducted, and that it is not a fair way to market your company.
What do you think about it?

Long day.
This has been a very long, but also a very good, day. Woke up at 7.30, went o Malmö without any problems. Went to the bank. Talked to a very helpful customer service worker. She helped me order a new VISA, the only problem is that they have to send it to Hudiksvall. Hopefully my mom can pick it up for me?
Went to Folk Å Rock for coffee and lunch. Suddenly, I see my friend Marcus (who I got to know in Umeå) walk by outside. Fun with unexpected meetings! He works for Egmont now in Stockholm, so he had a client meeting in Malmö today. It's good to have your eyes open, you never know who you will see and meet, wherever you are!
The meeting with Tim (sales manager at eFinance) also went well. We started planning for a marketing and launch strategy. Exciting! Billmate seems to be a great service. A brand who is trusted and has many customers already, even though the service is not officially launched yet!
After the meeting at eFinance, I went to Starbucks for the release party of Cathrin Frisemo's book about the digital work life. It was a nice event! Interesting subject. You can find my article and interview with Cathrin here.

Marketing consultant.
Woke up early today to take the train to Malmö. Started with "Måndagsboost" at Mindfloor, where Cecilia told us about mindfulness and also had some exercises with us. The purpose was to make us feel less stress, to calm down, make us feel aware of our mind. body, soul etc. I don't know if it worked for me, but it was different and fun to try :)
After the boost, I went to Lund to meet Stefan and Petter, who I am a marketing and communications consultant for now. I like to work with people who really believe in what they are doing, and who are real entrepreneurs. Fun and a great learning experience! I will continue consulting for them for a while. Thanks for the lunch also!!! :)
Had some problems with going back to Copenhagen, since I discovered I have lost my VISA. Think it was yesterday, when I bought my ticket in the machines at Copenhagen C. Thanks to Jonas Bigelius who could save me (borrow me some cash for my ticket back home)!!! Today's hero :)
And tomorrow, I will start working for eFinance Nordic. Get more information about the business, make a marketing and communications plan. I start to feel like a real marketer now ;)

Another job! :)
Today I got a new job! :) I will be responsible for communication and especially social media activities for eFinance Nordic AB. I am super excited! I will continue my work for Nina as well, since I really enjoy it, meet many nice people, get a bigger network, and learn a lot. I actually think it is good for me to work with different things, since I become more productive that way :)
Today I also interviewed Linus Zackrisson, who is an expert in job searching and especially LinkedIn (and knows a lot about other social media channels also). It went very well! I think it can be a very good article of that information I got! And also some inside info about how recruiters use social media to find their candidates ;)
Now, I have started to think about something... we'll see what happens with that.
Happy girl! And it's friday! And we're having guests :)

Advertising with celebrities.
Celebrities have strong personal brands, and it is common that companies take advantage of this and use celebritities for advertising their own brands. Since celebritites are well-known for consumers, they get attention. Consumers are familiar with their appearance, their activities (how they became famous) and know what they stand for.
Also, celebrities in ads often catch media's attention as well and can contribute to PR for your company.
Rick Suttle writes about advantages that are created for companies when they use celebrities in their advertising. (find the whole article here)
1. Influence consumer purchases
The affinity consumers have for certain celebrities can greatly influence their purchases. Let's say a consumer admires Cameron Diaz and want to be like her. When this consumer sees Cameron Diaz in an ad for a specific fashion brand, he or she creates a positive attitude towards the brand as well, and a willingness to buy from that brand in order to be more like his/her role model.
2. Build awareness
Celebrities in ads contribute to increased awareness of the company's brand. Celebrities catch consumers' attention, and by using celebs in your ads - your brand gets their attention as well.
3. Position a brand
Product positioning is about placing a product/service in the best possible light in target consumers' minds. A company can succeed with its positioning to the right target group, if they use a celebrity that consumers admire and can related to. If consumers admire the celebrity, they can feel that the company's brand share the celebrity's values and characteristics.
4. Attract new users
A company can use a celebrity in its ads to attract new customer segments. Let's say a group of consumers admires a specific celebrity. If this celebrity are used in an ad for a specific company, these consumers can become interested to try it.
5. Breathe life into failing brand
Celebrities can create new interest for a specific brand among consumers. If consumers admire Britney Spears and they suddently see her in an ad for a soft drink brand, they can become interested in the brand even if they have not been interested before.

Sisley.
I will continue yesterday's unethical marketing subject, now focusing on the fashion/clothing company Sisley. They are well-known for their provocative, sexistic, unethical ads, and I don't understand how we (companies, consumers, society - market!) can accept this kind of advertising. I mean, look at these!
